Our home is a sacred place. It is a place where we feel safe, can relax, and be our true selves.
Yet even the happiest of homes will over time accumulate negative energies, therefore is important to clear this energy and return balance to your home.
You space reflects your inner life. If you bless your home and fill it with love, it will become a space of love, harmony, health, and prosperity, and thus affect your inner life with this energy.
House blessings are a religious ritual. Throughout the world many religions and cultures hold house blessings. They are common amongst Catholics and Christians as well as Native Americans, Gaelic, Irish, Pagan, and many more.
A blessing is done prior to moving into a new home to ensure a positive start to life in your new home. It is also common to have a house blessing after the completion of construction, or after a traumatic event such as death or divorce. Perhaps there have been many disagreements, arguments or general upheaval; this is when a blessing and shift of energy is needed to restore harmony
A house blessing is also beneficial if you would like to ensure good energy for selling your home, having an important event such as a wedding, baby shower or bringing home your new baby.
Many people have a house blessing once a year to get rid of any negative energy that has built up and invite good energy and God’s blessings into their home.
Just like my wedding and baby blessing ceremonies, my house blessing ceremonies can be tailored to fit your religious and spiritual preferences. They can be religious in the name of God and Jesus Christ, or you may prefer a more universal blessing that is spiritual in nature yet nondenominational.
If you would like, your house blessing can include friends and family. You may ask them to join in the blessing by having each family member take a turn saying a prayer. You can conclude your blessing with a house warming party.

Preparation: Clean your home. De-clutter; get rid of all garbage and waste. Try to create a peaceful feeling in all rooms, including closets and basement. It is advised to remove any items that are toxic and vexations to the spirit such as illegal drugs, pornography and other negative items etc.
During your house blessing, it is important to include the names of all the people who live in the home, as well as your pets.
You may want to hang a cross or other religious or spiritual symbol at the entrance of your home as part of the ceremony.

Holy Water with Sea Salt: This is used for purification and to bring lives into balance.
Lavender Oil: (Used in my Universal Ceremony) Lavender is universal oil with many different applications. Lavender has been named as one of the most useful of the essences for the relief of anxiety and stress.
Blessed Anointing oil: (For ceremonies in the name of Jesus Christ) this is blessed olive oil, the same used during a traditional baptism.
Candle: We will use a pink pillar candle as our source candle. Pink brings the energy of love and kindness.
Sage: (usually only used in my universal house blessing unless requested) Sage is held sacred by many cultures especially Native Americas, because of its purifying energies. It heals by restoring balance and cleanses the area of negative spirits and impurities.
