Weddings in Long Branch NJ ~ At The Great Lawn, Gazebo at Pier Village, Beaches and Parks
*This is a helpful guide based solely on my experiences, I am not in any way affiliated with the town or county. It is always the couples responsibility to verify all details with the town in case there have been any changes in their procedures and rules.
Most locations in Long Branch require a permit.Don’t worry the process is easier than it looks.
1) Start by calling the recreation department and find out if the space you would like to reserve is available for your date and time. This is done through the recreation department for the town of Long Branch:732-571-6545
2) If it is, then you need to download, fill out and submit the application located on their website http://www.visitlongbranch.com/docs/specialweddingpermit.pdf

3) They do require a certificate of
insurance for $1,000,000.00 naming the City as the additional insured. Don’t
let this large number scare you. This is easy; it’s a one day rider on your
home owners insurance. If you don’t have the ability to do this then perhaps one of your parents, other relative, or friend can.
The process is easier than the application looks because most couples just use the location for their ceremony and all the extra things they ask you about in the application such as : Professional Events Organizer, portable restroom needed (no they have public ones) Are City Employees required to staff the even? Special refuse collection etc… none of these is applicable to a regular wedding ceremony. Even DJ’s and sound checks do not apply, because if you have a DJ or musicians supplying your ceremony music this is on a much smaller scale than the “party” DJ . If you are having your reception at another local venue then you will need the area for maybe 2 hour’s tops (depending on if you decorate and how much you decorate). Tents are not even usually needed; most couples use their reception venue as their back up location in case of inclement weather. Of course be sure to verify this with them.

What I feel is important is if you do have decorations (and you won’t need much since you have chosen these location for their natural beauty) you simple need to have someone take down the decorations and clean up directly afterwards. You can assign some friend or hire a same day wedding planner.
Be sure to verify where your guests can park.

I would advise that if you plan on employing a DJ, Musicians, Videographer, Photographer-any one bringing expensive equipment to the site (not necessary for Officiants), That you verify they carry their own company insurance (most do) This way if something were to happen while at this site (sudden rain, guest knocks into something, spills, whatever..) they are covered through their own business insurance.
